The Story behind the name

The word "Meraki" is Greek in origin. If you do a quick google search you will probably see: "to do something with soul, creativity, or love", and while that is the "definition" it goes much deeper than that! It's about taking the time to devote oneself completely, focusing only on the current activity - living in the moment. It's ​​adding love with consciousness and putting the essence of oneself into everything we do, and by doing so spreading love and happiness!

When I was trying to come up with a name for the store, which was a long, arduous process - I about drove myself crazy - I happened to have gone down a Pinterest rabbit hole and there it was. "Meraki". I knew that's what I wanted it to be and I stopped looking.

I hope that when you shop with us you can feel my earthy "essence", which is one of love, gratitude, and warmth. All are welcome at Meraki; I want you to feel comfortable shopping with us, as though you're walking into your best friends house.

We will always be honest with you about what you try on. If we think we can find something better, we will tell you. We will never tell you something looks good just to make a sale! The most important thing to me is that you trust me and my employees.

Our buying process takes a tremendous amount of time! We choose merchandise strategically; from picking pieces that our customers will love, making sure everything merchandises well together, to agreeing with the values of the companies we buy from, every aspect of our merchandise is carefully thought through before we put it on the sales floor. Subsequently, this is why we ask that no one takes photos of our clothing.


What has happened to customer service? It is no longer what it once was - and still should be. To us, customer service is the most important aspect of our business. Technology can only replace humans to a certain degree, and we believe that threshold was crossed a long time ago. We will always - ALWAYS - go above and beyond for our customers. Whether that's delivering merchandise to your doorstep or something smaller, like walking around the cash register to hand you your bag, our customers will always receive VIP treatment - regardless of how much money they spend.
